This is an exciting time at St. Sebastian. Our mission is to be the flagship Catholic elementary school in West Los Angeles. From our faculty and Governance Council to our academic focus and structure, including renovations inside and out, we’re changing and growing in all directions.

Our “Extreme Makeover”
The interior of the school has a new look including paint, lighting and furniture. A new air-conditioning and heating system for the entire school was installed in August, 2006 adding to an already redesigned infrastructure that includes all new plumbing. There has been a complete makeover in the reception area, principal’s office and faculty room as well as the cafeteria kitchen.

There’s a new Preschool, and every classroom, K through Eight, features state-of-the-art computers, flat-screen monitors and Smart Board technology which enables our teachers to take your child’s learning experience to a whole new level.

Junior High Departmentalization
St. Sebastian’s Junior High program (grades 6, 7 and 8) features a departmentalized curriculum focusing on three critical areas: math, science and literature. The 8th grade also has Algebra I. Our main priority is to prepare our students for the high school experience and equip them to gain acceptance to whatever high school they choose.

The Governance Council
The St. Sebastian administrative team will be assisted and advised by the school Governance Council which is comprised of parishioners, educators, and community leaders. The Council and administration will work together to provide the richest possible learning environment for our students.

Preschool
Bringing 3-5 year-olds into the St. Sebastian family is a cornerstone of our new vision and we are pleased to tell you more about our state of the art Preschool.

Kindergarten
St. Sebastian is proud to have its’ very own “Little Red School House” kindergarten, completely refurbished with new furniture and equipment, including computers. St. Sebastian’s strives to provide a nurturing environment where your child will thrive and grow during this very important time in their educational development.

New Technology
We believe traditional classroom instruction is enriched through technology and our expanded tech center includes upgraded computer systems, software, and Internet access. Students will have access to a fully equipped computer lab where they can do research and learn to use the Internet as a learning tool. Our renovated science lab and enhanced science program will give students a space for experimentation and hands-on learning.
