St. Sebastian School, West LA

Pre-K to 8th Grade. Dual Language Immersion

Message from our Principal

Dear Saint Sebastian Family,

Affirmation of the Week: “The more I learn the more I achieve.” The ability to learn is a gift unlike any other. Our brain is constantly working and we are capable of absorbing endless amounts of information. All knowledge and skills have value. It is what we do with them that is key. As we continue our journey as lifelong learners these skills will pave the way for us.

Mr. Suk

Principal

Monthly School Family Mass

Tomorrow Saturday October 19th, we will celebrate Mass together as a Spartan family.  We want to invite all our Saint Sebastian families to join us across the street at the Parish at 5:00pm. Students who wear their mass uniform will get a free dress pass.

2nd Movie Night after school

Our Student Council is getting ready for the second movie night! The second one is for families from 3rd grade & up next Friday October 25th and the show will start at 5:00pm. Students need to turn in a permission slip to Ms. Nathalie in order to attend.
Accompany and support our student council fundraisers to allow them to organize fun activities for the whole student body.  There will be pizza, popcorn, ice cream, nachos, and sodas for sale.

Vision to Learn at school

Vision To Learn is a non-profit organization working in communities across the U.S. offering vision services to students in support of their academic achievement. Vision screenings will take place here on Friday October 25th. If your child does not pass the screening, they will be referred to the Vision To Learn mobile clinic to receive a routine eye exam by a trained and licensed independent optometrist. If needed, your child may also be prescribed glasses. The optometrist may also identify and refer students in need of follow-up vision care. Eye exams do not involve eye drops or dilation.

If you do not want your child to receive the service, please turn in this Opt Out Form to the office asap.

Costume Parade and Contest

The Halloween Costume Contest will begin at 9:15 am this Thursday, October 31st  in the school yard. Students are asked to wear costumes that are appropriate for a school setting with young children on campus.
The guidelines include the following:
  • No weapons
  • No blood on the costume, mask, or skin
  • Appropriate outfits for a school setting
  • Includes skirt lengths and tightness
  • Costume cannot be scary for younger children (Example – scary clown with blood on face)
Students come dressed up ready for the parade. Parents will be allowed to come and see the Halloween Costume Contest. Students can change by themselves after the event if they want to or they can wear their costumes all day.
