Message from our Principal
Dear Saint Sebastian Family,
Affirmation of the week: “I do my best and I push through challenges.” This week, our school community is focusing on a mindset that builds resilience.
Setbacks are a natural part of learning. Whether tackling a tough academic concept or mastering a new skill, true growth doesn’t require perfection, it requires the willingness to keep trying. By praising your child’s effort at home, normalizing mistakes as opportunities to learn, and replacing “I can’t” with “I can’t yet,” we help our students develop the grit and confidence needed to face every challenge with heart.
Mr. Andrew Suk
Principal

8th grade HS meeting
As you know, the 8th grade year is a unique and special experience. We support our students in the journey to high school as well as the ways we can celebrate their growth over the years. Our communication and partnership with the 8th grade parents will help make this a reality for our Spartan Graduates-to-be.
Our first 8th Grade meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 23rd at 5:00pm
We are looking forward to connecting with you and to continue our way forward together as the Class of 2027!
Jog-a-thon is coming!
The Jog-a-thon / Hop-a-thon is our first fundraising sporting event of the year. It is held on Thursday, October 8th. Children run (TK-8th Grades) or hop (Preschool) as many laps as they are able to in the playground.
This is the first of the four mandatory fundraisers that will count towards the $450 minimum Fundraising Commitment you signed when you enrolled. This means that all families must participate. Even if the student is absent, families must get donations.
What are parents supposed to do? Parents get sponsors who will pledge a donation towards their fundraising campaign. The purpose of this event is to fundraise as much as possible by running laps. So go around looking for people to become your children’s sponsors.
There are 2 ways to pledge: Flat rate donation or donation per lap
1. Flat Rate means that the sponsor will donate a specific amount regardless of how many laps the child runs.
2. Per Lap means that the sponsor will donate an amount depending on how many laps the child runs. This is, for example, if I pledge to donate $0.50 cents per each lap, and the student runs 50 laps, I will have to donate $25 total.
Timeline:
-
Starting today and until October 7th – Get as many pledges as possible.
-
Wednesday October 7th – BRING BACK YOUR PLEDGE FORMS. We need them to mark the total number of laps and the total amount to collect after they run.
-
Thursday, October 8th @7:30am – Volunteer to cut fruit in the morning and prep the cups for our Spartans!
-
Thursday, October 8th – Kids run in the morning and volunteers total the pledges in the sheets after the event.
-
Tuesday October 13th – School sends pledge forms back home so you can start collecting the pledged money.
-
Monday Ocotber 19th – Turn in collected money to school. You can bring cash, check, or Zelle*
*IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ZELLE – If you are asking your sponsors to zelle money directly to the school, please make sure they include your child’s name on the message. Example: Jogathon – Juanito Perez 3rd
