Special Classes

Art

Once a week

Art exploration and experimentation is so important for our students. In this class students will be playing with different mediums such as paint, upcycled materials, drawing, and mixed media, focusing more on the process over product, and creating art that comes from having fun. This class, while playful and exploratory- it promotes motor skills and concentration. They learn new techniques each month and put them into action!

Music

Once a week

In Music class our students will grow and develop their appreciation and aptitude for music via movement and games, vocal and instrumental applications, and team building performances.
In Preschool, our students learn to differentiate simple musical concepts such as: loud/soft; high/low; fast/slow, and many more. As we move up through the other grades, they will build on these concepts as we continue to play, and move. Students will learn about the beat, and recognition of simple written rhythms and musical symbols, as well as identifying instruments, etc. During the school year students use their musical knowledge in their performances at the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert.
